Jellis Craig is targeting $100,000 as it launches a month-long initiative to raise money to support people struggling with homelessness, economic disadvantage, and mental health challenges.

Jellis Craig has launched its inaugural Foundation Month for October, with initiatives designed to raise money for Jellis Craig Foundation and its charity partners.

As part of its support, Jellis Craig will donate a dollar amount from every home it sells to the Foundation, aiming for a total of $100,000 across the entire month.

The charities supported include LifeChanger, The Big Umbrella, The Lighthouse Foundation, McAuley Community Services for Women and A Home for All Foundation.

The month commenced on 2 October with 5km and 10km fun runs around Albert Park Lake, bringing together 300 Jellis Craig team members, plus their families and pets.

Another fundraising opportunity will be the annual Jellis Craig Golf Day, with people making a tax-deductible $50 donation to participate in the “Hole in one prize” competition.

Following the round, participants will also be able to participate in a charity auction, with all proceeds going towards Foundation Month.

During October, Jellis Craig staff members are encouraged to create their own fundraising profiles to raise money themselves, and open inspections will also have materials to encourage donations.

Jellis Craig Foundation general manager, Elizabeth Morello, said the initiative was an opportunity to bring the Jellis Craig community together to support specific causes.

She said the charities included those dealing with homelessness, economic disadvantage, food insecurity and mental health.

“Foundation Month is about celebrating the impact we’ve been able to make with our charity partners and bringing our people, clients and communities together to help create even greater impact,” she said.

“Whether it’s taking part in the Foundation Month Classic, getting involved in the Golf Day, creating a fundraising page, making a donation or simply starting a conversation, every contribution helps.”

Jellis Craig CEO Andrew McCann said the first dedicated Foundation Month helped the team focus its work while fostering support for good causes.

“These issues are very close to my heart, and it’s important to me that we invest everything we can into raising funds, being generous with our time, and starting important conversations with our clients, stakeholders, and partners.”
