Greener building in QLD

By Staff Reporter 02 September 2010 | 5 minute read

Green building and living are gathering momentum with a Queensland property group announcing a green property development in Brisbane.

According to the property developer ECOpro Developments, the property is part of a plan to reduce the state's high greenhouse emissions as well as promote eco-friendly living.

"As the state's population continues to expand there is a growing need for environmentally sustainable living, especially in the Brisbane area," Jill Nixon, one of ECOpro's directors, commented.

ECO on Taylor, which will be built in Cleveland, will be built with environmentally sustainable initiatives including coconut timber decking and solar technology.

According to Ms Nixon the property will offer residents a greener lifestyle as well as dramatic savings in energy bills every year.

The ECO on Taylor is due for completion in 2011.
