Students looking to start their career in real estate are being given an insider’s look at the industry through a new scholarship program.

Laing + Simmons Real Estate is hosting a Scholarship Program that allows students to have a week’s work experience with a real estate agent.

The 2011 program will give 25 students the opportunity to work in a nearby real estate office, with the top three students then given the opportunity to complete the Real Estate Certificate of Registration Course with all costs covered by Laing + Simmons.

According to Laing+Simmons general manager Leanne Pilkington the scholarship program is an effective training initiative.

“All three of our scholarships winners are mentored by a senior member of the Laing Simmons management team to ensure the right techniques, skills and standards of practise are learned,” Ms Pilkington said.

Students are expected to complete their work experience placement before the end of November with the three scholarships awarded mid-December.
