A six bedroom mansion in one of Sydney’s most prestigious harbourside suburbs was sold last week for a mere $52 million.

David Penn, a dentist and medical innovator together with his wife Linda, purchased the Wolseley Road property, otherwise known as ‘Villa Veneto’ from recruitment tycoon, Andrew Banks and his wife Andrea.

The couple had sold their Bellevue Hill home for $23.5 million only a week prior to make the purchase.

The sale marks a record price for the Sydney property market, surpassing the most expensive harbourside property by $7 million – a $45 million beachfront home in Vaucluse, which was purchased in 2008.
