Property agents with strong retail development experience will be in high demand over the coming quarter, new research has found.

According to the October-December Hays Property Quarterly Report, an expected boost in development activity by major retail landlords will increase job opportunities within the retail space.

Corporate/commercial sales fared well in the last quarter, with recent tender processes creating job opportunities for property account managers.

“Australia’s job market is very healthy as businesses ramp up their hiring activity,” Hays Property regional director Shane Little said.

Over the next quarter, Hays anticipates an increase in new positions as employers in the property sector ramp up their recruitment plans following the GFC.

“With business confidence rising and the 2010 federal election behind us, employers are again focusing on permanent roles following an initial focus on temporary recruitment,” the report said.
