New independent and free real estate website, Thehomepage.com.au is cementing its place in the highly competitive online property market.

Speaking to Real Estate Business, Thehomepage.com.au chief executive Ben Stockdale said the online resource is becoming a serious player in the real estate portal world, with the site recently ranking eighth on Neilson Net Rating and fifth in real estate classifieds, according to Audit Bureau of Australia data.

“Since we started back in June last year we have experienced steady growth in terms of listings and unique browser hits. However, since the relaunch we have seen online enquiries and listing increase at an incredible rate,” Mr Stockdale said.

According to the company’s latest data, online listings experienced a 2.5 per cent conversion rate with browsers contacting agents for further information and property details.

“We have a different philosophy at Thehomepage.com.au. We don’t charge for subscriptions like some other websites, we are completely free and this benefits both browsers and estate agents,” Mr Stockdale said.

“Research has shown us that agents are in search of a premium online channel without the burden of outrageous fees. Meanwhile buyers and sellers enjoy the fact that we do not have paid priority listings. The listings are always up-to-date.”
