Despite being faced with a challenging market there are still plenty of opportunities for agents that are passionate about their profession.

Speaking to Real Estate Business, Bradfield and Pritchard’s managing director Bob Guth said agents should not be deterred by the soft residential property market, but rather view it as an opportunity to hone their skills in the industry.

“In this price sensitive market it is crucial that agents who take on property need to ensure that everything can be done is done in bringing buyers together with sellers and meeting in terms of prices,” Mr Guth said.

“Agents who are well organised, maintain focus on what they have to do and remain diligent will prosper in this challenging market.”

However, while some agents are sure to excel in the current climate many find they struggle to generate new listings.

“I think those agents that perhaps are a little bit on the lazy side or are not quite as industrious or diligent and self-motivated may well fall by the wayside.”
