Property management must be a core part of any real estate agent’s business, particularly as property investor activity increases across Australia, First National chief executive Ray Ellis said.

Speaking to Real Estate Business, Mr Ellis said agencies that have an effective property management division in place will be able to take advantage of the nation’s housing undersupply, and tight rental vacancy rates.

“At the moment property management is the key component of every real estate office nationwide,” he said.

These comments were largely echoed by Richardson & Wrench director Peter Baldwin.

“From our point our view we believe property management to be the piers, the beams and the reinforcement of a business,” Mr Baldwin said.

“In tough markets, property management is a sound strategy to increasing listings and will allow for organic growth of the business.”
