The recent launch by Domain.com.au (Domain) of a real estate directory that helps house hunters, sellers and renovators find suppliers has come at the same time as downloads for its three smartphone apps surpassed the 500,000 mark.
“The launch of the directory co-insides with the start of the spring selling season, which is traditionally the busiest time of year for house hunters and real estate agents,” said Tony Blamey, general manager real estate, Fairfax Marketplaces.
Domain said the directory features thousands of listings from real estate related service providers including painters, carpet layers, pest exterminators and solicitors. Over 60 categories are represented.
“The new directory will greatly assist people looking to buy, sell and renovate this spring,” said David Colman, sales manager for LJ Hooker Newtown, in Sydney's inner west.
“A significant number of additional properties come onto the market during this peak time as the weather starts to warm up and traditionally properties look their best with gardens bursting into bloom.”
Domain also announced that more than half a million people had downloaded its three smartphone apps, including Windows 7, Apple and Android, and it expects a strong increase in downloads during spring.
