The Real Estate Institute of NSW has announced the finalists for the 2011 ‘Awards for Excellence’ with less than a month before the official winners are crowned.

The 'Awards for Excellence' recognise at the highest level, the skill, innovation and expertise that puts the 'best of the best' at the top of the industry, REINSW President Wayne Stewart said.

"I am really impressed by the extraordinary talent demonstrated by all our 2011 finalists", he said.

"Across all the award categories, we are seeing individuals who are striving for and delivering the highest level of professional expertise for consumers as well as the industry.

The 2011 ‘Awards for Excellence’ will cover a range of categories including auctioneers, residential sales, commercial property management and innovation.

Residential Sales Agent of the Year nominee Justin Ferguson, director of Justin Ferguson Property Specialists in Cammeray, said he was pleased to receive such recognition after many years of hard work.

“About 13 years ago I left a larger group to start my own business from scratch, so over the last 13 years I’ve had to work extremely hard to build that business to what it is today,” Mr Ferguson told Real Estate Business.

“I know that the best way to build a business from nothing is through referral partnerships and by developing a strong relationship with the local community. It has taken many years to do so and I’m proud to be receiving this level of recognition from the industry and my peers.”

The winners of the 2011 'Awards for Excellence' will be announced at the REINSW Gala Dinner to be held on the 15th October.
