Stringent policies and procedures have proved to be the recipe for success for two New South Wales-based agencies.

The 2011 REINSW ‘Awards for Excellence’, held in Sydney over the weekend, recognised the success of agents from a range of fields including residential sales, commercial leasing, property management and auctioneering.

Sydney-based agency True Property was awarded the medium agency of the year, while Breakfast Point Realty took out the title for NSW’s small residential agency of the year.

Speaking to Real Estate Business, True Property sales director and principal Braden Walters believed the key to success is simple; having efficient policies and procedures in place.

“What we do really isn’t that hard, it’s a matter of knowing and understanding the process of selling real estate, which our office’s policies ensure,” Mr Walters said. True Property has two offices based in the inner Sydney suburbs of Erskineville and Camperdown.

“There are not many of us in our office, so it is important to our success that each member knows exactly what they have to do and how to do it. We all know our role and how we fit in the big scheme of things.”

Breakfast Point Realty principal Alison Beveridge also believes in getting the little things right.

“Since inception in 2003 the agency has strived to deliver exceptional levels of customer service and advice to people seeking real estate information about the Breakfast Point community.”

However, over the last 12 months the agency said it had implemented a range of new initiatives to help ensure the success of the business.

“The agency implemented a variety of new initiatives in the past 12 months which also contributed to this award win including the introduction of a Chinese speaking agent, appointment as commercial property managers of the Breakfast Point Village Centre and the introduction of social media strategies including a lifestyle blog for residents,” Ms Beveridge said.
