Gold Coast franchise no big loss, says Professionals

Professionals Real Estate Group chairman Brian Brady has been quick to react to the loss of one of its 18 Gold Coast franchises, offering the new franchise group “tongue-in-cheek congratulations”.

Mr Brady said Fletcher’s Real Estate decision to embrace a defecting Professionals branch under the Fletchers banner would “improve both franchise groups”.

His comment follows reports that Professionals Elanora, run by principals Larry and Kathie Beech, would be rebranded under the Fletchers banner.

“We wish the Beech family all the best with their fourth real estate banner,’’ said Mr Brady.

Managing director of Fletchers (South East Qld), Christopher Stear, said the largely Victoria-based real estate group – which is looking to boost its presence in Queensland - was “absolutely delighted to have Larry and his team as part of Fletchers”.

“I would see, over the next five years, a rollout of Fletchers franchises pretty well in all of the major centres of Queensland,” he told Real Estate Business.

“That’s the micro version of the plan. Fletchers, because they’re world’s best practice, they’ve got a lot to offer in an industry that is right for modernisation of systems and cultures, and methods.

“Across the country it’s one of those industries where a lot of it is just vanilla, where people just go to work, and just make a living. But there are certainly enough agents out there who recognise the potential of a firm like Fletchers, of systems and support, but more importantly, the results.”

Mr Brady said Professionals would look to appoint a new member to service the Palm Beach-Elanora area.

“We will be looking to appoint a real estate professional who meets the quality and financial standards of the Professionals Real Estate Group and can provide a superior business to our valued clients."
