Ray White Group has managed to attract a number of well-established independent agencies in NSW and Queensland to its ranks in recent months.
The two most recent moves, in the North Queensland city of Townsville and the NSW town of Cessnock, both involved former long-term independent agencies joining the franchise group, which has upwards of 700 shopfronts nationally.
In Townsville, Clint Wallis, who began his real estate career selling house and land packages in Townsville back in 1995, has formed Ray White Clint Wallis.
"Clint Wallis' is an example of a business that has grown and been well received in his community because of his leadership and the wonderful team that works with him," said Tony Warland, CEO of Ray White Queensland.
"It's easy to recognise leaders, not just within our own network but people of an excellent standard in the industry.
“We are enthralled that he and his team are now choosing to be Ray White. He doesn't need to join Ray White to be successful, he wants to join Ray White to be more successful."
The business also manages 250 properties.
"In Townsville at the moment we are having an influx of military, and it's doing wonders for our rental market, with prices increasing and rates coming down,” said Chelsea Claus, the agency’s general manager.
In Cessnock, former independent Kevin Phillips has also joined the Ray White network.
"Kevin has personally been responsible for record prices in Cessnock, Ellalong and Broke and has been a top achiever in his field," the chief executive of Ray White NSW, Stephen Nell, said.
"With over 16 years of real estate experience to offer, Kevin was also born and bred in the area offering a broad range of information on the local area and has heritage in Cessnock dating back to 1840. You don't get much more local than that."
The two recent additions follow the decision by former Strathpine, Qld independent agent Donna Erskine to also link with the network.
Ms Erskine had worked with her father, who has been in the industry for 36 years.
"Being given the opportunity to join the family business some five years ago and now rebranding a business with my husband, Rob, is such a thrill," she said.
"One of the things that we cherish in the Ray White Group is genuinely being a family business,” Mr Warland said. “Donna has come from a family real estate business and joins us with those same values. In fact, her brother has the Ray White Wamuran office."
In December, the former Keith Bell & Son First National business in Quirindi, NSW, also joined the network.
"As well as changing our name we will also be changing premise. We're looking forward to moving into the brand new and larger premises with a huge window display and much needed office space," business principal Luke Scanlon said.
