Victorian real estate network hockingstuart has been acknowledged for the work it has undertaken with the ‘Kids Under Cover’ charity.

Both organisations were presented with the ‘Outstanding business or philanthropic commitment to addressing homelessness’ award by Minister for Social Housing and Homelessness Brendon O’Connor at last week’s National Homelessness Services Achievement awards in Canberra.

The award recognised their partnership and efforts to providing housing solutions for young people on the verge of homelessness.

“Helping teenagers stay in their family homes was really something that resonated with us,” said hockingstuart chief executive, Nigel O’Neil.

“We’ve been supporting Kids Under Cover for three years, with a portion of every one of our sales donated to them.”

“The strength of our support comes from also having the backing of all 48 offices in our network, so we’re making a difference at both a corporate and local community level,” added O’Neil.

Kids Under Cover National CEO Jo Swift said their partnership with hockingstuart is invaluable.

“You can’t put a price tag on helping a young person get their life back on track, completing an education and staying connected to their family and their community,” she said.

hockingstuart said it has increased awareness of Kids Under Cover in the community through consistent promotion in its marketing and advertising initiatives, including hockingstuart’s Red Magazine, its property boards, email communications to its database of approximately 100,000 members and website.

In addition, hockingstuart supports three of Kids Under Cover’s major campaigns annually including the Umbrella Ball, Cubby House Challenge and its Donate Your Car program.
