RE/MAX WA has posted a 40 per cent on-month rise in sales volume in March, as the WA property market continues to show signs of recovery.

“One of our agents opened a home on Beechboro last weekend and was overwhelmed with more than 70 people attending resulting in four offers one of which was successful”, RE/MAX WA managing director, Geoff Baldwin, said.

“The property was marketed using a wide buyer feedback range and sold in the upper half of that range and for a higher price than that expected by the sellers which was very pleasing for them and for our agent.

“This is an exceptional example however numbers are well up across our home opens in most suburbs and in March our sales volume was up by 40 percent on the previous month so all the indicators are present for the market to continue to strengthen especially as interest rates are expected to drop again next week.

“Buyers remain very value conscious but well marketed and competitively priced properties are selling quickly and often with multiple offers,” Mr Baldwin said.

Mr Baldwin’s comments come shortly after fellow WA-based group ACTON also reported strong February and March sales volumes, and the Real Estate Institute of WA released data showing strong March quarter sales volumes.

RE/MAX WA also opened a new office in Mandurah, and announced plans to grow its network by five offices this year.
