McGrath Estate Agents has continued its aggressive expansion following the opening of two new offices, one in Queensland and another in the ACT.

A new office, a franchise outlet operated by Toby Sandell and Wayne Adams, will open in the Queensland regional city of Toowoomba, the heart of the rich farming region. The office will service East Toowoomba, Middle Ridge, Rangeville, Mt Lofty, Centenary Heights and Newtown.

The announcement comes less than a month after McGrath Estate Agents opened a company-owned office in the inner Brisbane suburb of Paddington and a franchise outlet located in Ascot, part of the company's push into the Queensland market.

John McGrath, chief executive of McGrath Estate Agents, said it was a natural progression to expand into the Toowomba region as the company already has a strong presence on the Gold Coast.

“We see this as a very exciting opportunity to open in what we consider a vibrant and growing centre and the demand for property is reflecting this,” he said.

“The impact of the 2011 floods is receding, there’s a new state government in Queensland and the mining and energy sectors are growing which only spells good news for the region’s property market.”

Mr Sandell said they were attracted to the quality of the McGrath brand and its offering, and the positive impact that its founder John McGrath had on the real estate industry through innovation, training and education.

Another McGrath office has also commenced operations in the ACT, the third to open its doors since the Belconnen/Gungahlin franchise in February 2010.

The new McGrath Dickson franchise was previously known as Peter Blackshaw Inner North & Rural and has been operating since July 2007. The sales team of eight agents will be led by co-franchisees Christopher Dixon, Lou Seminara, Maree van Arkel and Sharon Dei Rocini.

The office will service the north-east region of Canberra in the business hub of Dickson, with plans for a satellite office in Manuka in 18 months' time.

Mr McGrath said the Canberra market continues to be one of the most resilient in the country with relatively high average incomes, low unemployment and a strong retail sector.

“These new franchises are part of our overall strategy to move into areas that have a geographical synergy with Sydney so we can add maximum value," he said.

“We see huge growth potential in this market and our rollout of our offices through Canberra so far demonstrates our confidence in this important property market” Mr McGrath said.

McGrath Estate Agents currently has 48 offices located throughout Sydney, the NSW north coast, central coast, Southern Highlands and south coast, south east Queensland and the ACT.
