LJ Hooker’s Australasian network has surpassed the 700 franchise office mark, the company announced at its annual gala awards, at which Bill Malouf was again crowned the group’s number one salesperson.

“Hitting the 700 office milestone in this challenging market is a great achievement,” said L. Janusz Hooker, LJ Hooker’s deputy chair.

“You cannot control the market however can take advantage of the opportunity. We are attracting the best talent in the industry in more locations so we can serve our customers even better.”

The news comes only days after the group announced the opening of seven new offices in south east Queensland in the past few weeks.

The company said its residential network now comprises more than 7,000 sales professionals, property managers, finance brokers and support team members, and sells more than 40,000 properties each year, collectively worth over AU$15 billion.

The annual awards for the company were held in Sydney on 28 July, completing the series of six awards events held throughout Australia and New Zealand and announced LJ Hooker’s highest awards including:

  • LJ Hooker Double Bay’s Bill Malouf continues as the number one salesperson in the LJ Hooker network
  • LJ Hooker Mosman is the number one office in the network ahead of LJ Hooker
  • Sunnybank Hills, Queensland and LJ Hooker Tuggeranong, ACT
  • LJ Hooker Commercial Canberra taking the number one position in commercial sales

“I do it because I get out of bed in the morning and I truly love [it],” he said in late May.

“To try and instil success in my team, I have to be selling. I have to be succeeding as well because if I’m not, they can’t look up to me, and they can blame what’s going on in the world at present.

“I need to set a benchmark for the people that work for me. It’s not fair for me to walk into a boardroom meeting or a sales meeting and complain about their figures if my figures aren’t on the board. You will never get anyone to follow you if you aren’t leading from the front.”

Georg Chmiel, CEO of LJ Hooker said the company had enjoyed a “very successful 12 months,” pointing a number of milestones achieved during the year including the introduction of new mobile websites, its partnership with Bond University, and its business relationships with a number of Asia-Pacific focused listing websites, Juwai.com and iProperty Group.

“The company continues to invest in people, training and technology to ensure consumers are the winners when buying, renting, investing or selling real estate,” he said.
