Agents from the NSW Hunter Valley, Newcastle and north coast regions performed strongly at PRDnationwide’s annual awards night on Saturday.

PRDnationwide Newcastle secured the number one office award from the 125-strong group, and one of the office’s sales agents, George Rafty, winning the network’s major individual award.

Moreover, Newcastle’s Mark Kentwell was awarded number one principal in the group for the third year in a row.

Both Mr Rafty and Mr Kentwell also featured in the recent Real Estate Business Top 100 Agents list, finishing ninth and fifteenth, respectively.

The top ten offices recognised at the awards, which were held at the Grand Hyatt, Melbourne, were Newcastle, Ballarat, Hunter Valley, Toowoomba, Port Stephens, Horsham, Mackay, Agnes Water, Whitsunday and Bundaberg - who recorded the highest settled commissions during the 2011/2012 financial year.

“Despite the tough market conditions there continues to be some outstanding performances and I congratulate all of our award winners on some remarkable efforts,” said PRDnationwide managing director and chairman, Tony Brasier.

“Some of the performances of individuals and offices is comparable to a strong market year”.

PRDnationwide Hunter Valley was announced as the Most Outstanding Franchise Office.

“They have positioned themselves as ‘the’ agency to work for in their region which has enabled them to be in the rare position of employing only the best people which has created an extremely motivated team environment,” said Mr Brasier.

The award for the Most Improved Franchise in the group was Agnes Water. The business is headed up by Tim Lawry and James White and has more than doubled its turnover in a year.

The company said 108 agents walked away with an award for sales performance - the top agents including Dane Queenen from Port Stephens, Rene Mogic from Geelong and Robert Dolan from Horsham.

The winner of the Rookie of the Year was PRDnationwide Riverview’s Dominic Blanchon.

The 2012 Annual Awards saw the presentation of the Five Star Office Award – handed out to PRDnationwide Kogarah for being the most committed and professional in the group.

Peter and Di Mendoza of PRDnationwide Ipswich were recognised for reaching 15 years with the group, as was Brad Fair (Ramsgate Beach), Luke Anderson (Hunter Valley),  and Leanne Alessi and Essam Eskaros (Liverpool).

Simon Freemantle of Wagga Wagga was awarded the prestigious John Harvey Award in honour of the founders of Nationwide Realty and PRD.
