As the debate for and against the virtual office space continues, one leading Brisbane principal believes a café-style office front is the way of the future.

Mikki Finlay of McGrath Ascot, recently moved into a café-style office on the main retail and restaurant strip of Ascot.

Ms Finlay, who is well known for listing and selling top end sales believes the café-style office will offer a more personalised environment for vendors and buyers.

“[In the area] there is a diversity of housing that will be very attractive to young families, professionals and investors,” she said.

“While I will continue to focus on the premium end, I am assembling a team of area specialists to assist me in providing a premium personalised service to our vendors and buyers alike.”

The Ascot office now brings the total of McGrath offices in Queensland to five, with shop fronts already established in Paddington, Palm Beach, Surfers Paradise/Broadbeach and Toowoomba.

The new office will service suburbs from Northgate in the north, to Hamilton in the south, Hendra in the east and Grange in the west.

Ms Finlay will be working with Cheryl Williamson. Ms Williamson carries a deep understanding of the local market and combines a talent for sales with an eye for design, having managed her own interior design business for more than 20 years.

Ms Finlay, whose alternative approach to marketing premium property has given her vendors the edge to ride out the top end property slump, she said trading under the McGrath banner has already reaped dividends.

“Over the years I have accumulated a wealth of personal contacts but we now have connections to 100,000 more through the McGrath database and exposure on the company website,” said Ms Finlay.

“This is a very competitive market to be in and being able to reach more potential buyers throughout Australia and internationally is critical especially since many of our buyers are migrating to south east Queensland from other states.”
