Luton Properties, an ACT-based real estate group with seven offices, dominated the Real Estate Institute of the ACT’s (REIACT) Awards of Excellence earlier this week, scoring six awards and gaining entry into the Hall of Fame.

Principal of Luton properties, Richard Luton, said he was thrilled with the result.

“We’ve been inducted into the REIACT's Hall of Fame, and almost made a clean sweep of winning every category we entered," he told Real Estate Business.

“Our efforts have been recognised through a raft of award wins, including REIA's National Innovation Award in 2010 for our commitment to sustainability.”

Luton won awards for Education and Training, Innovation, Community Service, Communications, with Madison Luton presented with an achievement award and Erika Stone winning the Corporate Support Person of the Year.

Mr Luton said extensive engagement in community service is also an integral part of the company.

“Just last month, for example, one of our top agents initiated a remarkable initiative to assist refugees into private rental properties that was launched and lauded by our own chief minister and is anticipated to be adopted Australia-wide shortly,” he said.

Jason Roses of LJ Hooker Tuggeranong was named Senior Auctioneer of the Year, and also walked away with the People’s Choice Award.

Wayne Harriden of Independent Property Group won the Residential Salesperson of the Year award.

Peter Blackshaw Manuka secured the title of Large Residential Agency of the Year for the third year running. The Medium Residential Agency award went to McGrath Dickson.

Michael Kumm, president of the REIACT, congratulated the winners for their work.

“They are not only noteworthy because of their individual achievements but also for their dedication to the profession as a whole and helping ensure it continues to grow and improve,” he said.
