Realmark, a Western Australia-based real estate group, recently completed its third charity drive for Operation Christmas Child.

According to Realmark, the project is run by Samaritan’s Purse and focuses on delivering gift-filled shoe boxes to children in desperate situations around the globe.

Realmark director, Anita Percudani, said the charity drive is an important event for the company’s employees.

“Since we began supporting Operation Christmas Child, our team has become so dedicated with some people supplying up to six boxes each,” she said.

“Providing a box full of goods that you know will be received at the other end with such happiness and delight is so much more rewarding than putting money in an envelope. In 2010 we collected 22 boxes and this year it has reached a massive 179 boxes.

“My goal is to one day send 1000 boxes.”

Mrs Percudani said she hopes to inspire other business leaders to take part in the charitable drive.

“It’s so important to give back to the community and especially to impoverished children who don’t have much at all,” she said.
