REA Group has appointed Ashley Smallwood as the country manager for its Hong Kong listing website business, squarefoot.com.hk.
“Ashley has extensive experience in digital advertising and property – with such terrific opportunity for digital classifieds growth in the Hong Kong property market, he’s the perfect fit for this role,” said general manager of REA Group’s international operations, Jenny Macdonald.
“Traffic to squarefoot.com.hk grew by 48 per cent in FY12 and the Chinese language sites attracted just over half of all visitors, with site traffic continuing to grow.”
Prior to joining REA Group, Mr Smallwood spent six years in digital sales roles at Telstra’s directory arm, Sensis, before moving into the role of national sales manager for REA Media in 2009. Ashley then headed up REA Group’s commercial division for three years, before relocating to the squarefoot.com.hk office in Hong Kong earlier this year to fulfil the role of head of sales Asia.
Mr Smallwood will lead a team of 25 in squarefoot.com.hk’s Hong Kong office.
