Another Western Australia real estate group has bolstered its senior business development team, one of a number of networks operating in the state looking to expand on the back of a rapidly improving property market.

Ex-News Limited advertising director and state manager of realestate.com.au, Donna Goddard, has accepted a role as business manager for RE/MAX Western Australia, group regional owner Geoff Baldwin announced last week.

“Donna has a successful and impressive corporate background that is closely aligned with property and she is widely known and respected in our industry through her previous positions so we believe she is a perfect fit for our team”, Mr Baldwin said.

“In her new position she will work closely with me in our focus to attract agents and salespeople to RE/MAX WA and on maintaining the high levels of training, service and support we have set for our group.”

Several other groups have begun focussing on growth in WA, with Raine & Horne targeting more business in the state after hiring new business support and development manager, Phillip Hayes.

ACTON, which has more than 20 offices, also appointed a new senior manager, Craig Wildman, to help expand across WA. Mr Wildman spoke with Real Estate Business about his plans for growth, and suggested areas such as Broome and Karratha as hotspots for new offices.

Realmark and Peard Real Estate are two other local brands to have added new offices to their respective networks in recent months, with more to come.

This expansion push has come against the backdrop of an improving property market, with the Real Estate Institute of WA (REIWA) reporting the strongest turnover results since 2005 in the December quarter.

Mr Baldwin said he has shared a great relationship with Ms Goddard, and is excited by the prospect of having her work under the RE/MAX banner.

“Through our association over the years I have come to admire Geoff’s unique, innovative and successful approach to business and his vision for RE/MAX in WA so I am very much looking forward to working with him and his team,” Ms Goddard said.
