While some agents are still debating the merits of using video to help sell real estate, one group claims it has become the first agency in the world to utilise 3D video.

Toop&Toop in South Australia said it has pioneered the technology, which allows property buyers to immerse themselves in a 3D open home inspection from the comfort of their lounge rooms.

"With the quality of our 3D videos, anyone in the world can essentially walk through a property without physically leaving their home,” managing director Anthony Toop said.

As winners of the 2013 REIA Marketing and Communications award, Toop&Toop believed it was time to release the technology to coincide with Adelaide making the switch to digital TV on 2 April 2013.

“The switch to digital is opening up unexpected opportunities. We can see the benefits of these opportunities for consumers and we are innovating our products and services to change the way consumers look for real estate," Mr Toop said.

To accommodate the technology, Toop&Toop has also created the world’s first smart TV real estate app – Smartrealestate.tv.

Genevieve Toop, general manager of sales and marketing at Toop&Toop, said the channel will provide content to clients like never before.

“Every single week there will be brand new content available to view on the app; up to 20 new feature videos and between one and three 3D feature videos,” Ms Toop said.

“Simply download the Smart Real Estate app on your Panasonic smart TV – just like you would on a smartphone – to begin the most revolutionised property viewing ever.

“We are international groundbreakers in this space - viewing feature videos of exclusive properties from the comfort of your lounge room on a smart TV, in 3D. It doesn’t get any better than that.”
