The CEO of the WA branch of a major network has returned to his roots as the new joint owner and managing director of one of the group's most successful offices.

The former CEO of Harcourts WA, Stuart Cox, has become part owner of Harcourts Alliance with Ben Bernacki.

Mr Cox's position as CEO will be filled by Jenny Birrell, who has held several senior management positions with some of the real estate industry’s most significant organisations.

Having previously owned and operated 10 offices, Mr Cox was given the role of CEO in late 2011.

"I've really enjoyed my time as CEO of Harcourts WA, but the Harcourts Alliance offices in Joondalup and Mindarie are practically in my backyard," he told Real Estate Business.

"Harcourts is vastly underrepresented in the northern suburbs of Perth, so as part of this role I will be pushing to expand in those areas."

Mike Green, managing director of Harcourts International, was thrilled to officially announce Ms Birrell’s appointment earlier this month.

“Jenny has enjoyed a highly successful real estate career to date and steps into the CEO role with an enviable reputation as one of the industry’s finest.

“I’m confident that Jenny’s involvement will lead to truly outstanding growth and success for the Harcourts group in Western Australia,” Mr Green said.

According to Mr Green, Ms Birrell will be responsible for driving internal growth through the development of Harcourts’ existing business by coaching and mentoring its business owners, as well as recruiting new talent and offices within the state.
