Buyers on the lookout for 'green' homes

New research suggests homebuyers are prepared to spend a bit extra to go green.

According to a recent survey by Ray White, buyers want ‘green’ investments when purchasing a newly built property.

Around 80 per cent of the buyers surveyed said they were more attracted to a property built with sustainability in mind and were more likely to purchase a property that was sympathetic to the natural environment.

Dan White, director of Ray White Projects, said this sentiment matches the initiatives many developers are employing for current and future projects.

“As developers look to green initiatives and sustainability to give them a leading edge, this buyer insight is reaffirming,” Mr White said.
