More than 750 nominations flooded through the 21 categories of the inaugural Australian Real Estate Awards, as the industry prepares to battle it out for top honours.

An initiative of Real Estate Business, partnered by Domain, the Australian Real Estate Awards are the only awards programme open to the entire real estate industry and will recognise outstanding individuals and groups across the national real estate industry.

Stacey Moseley, editor of Real Estate Business, said the overwhelming response strongly reinforces the industry desire for an independent national awards program.

“It has been very difficult to shortlist finalists as we have had a number of quality submissions from both leading real estate groups and smaller independent offices alike," she said.

“It is a great testament to the industry that so many leading real estate operators and networks see the value and marketing potential associated with this national awards program.

“As the industry increases its professionalism, it is also important to recognise and reward the key players driving this change.”

All shortlisted finalists have now been contacted and requested to supply a detailed submission, which will be judged by a panel of independent industry experts.
