The head of the Australian branch of one of the largest franchise networks in the world has made quick work of expanding in Queensland, with four offices opening since he took ownership less than six months ago.

Managing director of RE/MAX Australia, Michael Davoren, had growth in mind when he took ownership of the Australian and New Zealand franchises with two other executives - Keith Walker and Chris Chapman - in December last year.

Since then, RE/MAX Australia has opened in North Brisbane, the Sunshine Coast, the Gold Coast and in Caboolture.

“Jenny Andrews, from North Lakes, has rebranded her independent agency while Bill Rex transfers his business from another major real estate group,” Mr Davoren said.

Ms Andrews was ranked 68th in the 2013 Top 100 Agents, and told Real Estate Business that she hopes the new brand will help her retain staff.

"At the moment, I do everything and I have no life outside of work because of it," she said.

"I want to hire staff to help me out, but to do that I need to have a brand that will attract, and more importantly, retain good staff," Ms Andrews said.

Mr Davoren also announced new owners of the RE/MAX Property Centre in Toowong.

“In Maleny and Caboolture, experienced RE/MAX property specialists take their next career move with new businesses. And with Brad Jackson deciding to hand over the reins of his leading agency at Toowong, we’ve been fortunate to attract experienced owners from a major real estate name to buy into RE/MAX Australia with RE/MAX Property Centre,” he said.

In December 2012, Mr Davoren announced a goal of doubling the number of offices and sales agents within five years, which he claims will potentially put RE/MAX Australia in the top five networks in terms of turnover.

Mr Davoren said the group is ahead of target.
