The Gold Coast has been targeted as a key growth area for one leading real estate group.
LJ Hooker has announced its plans to expand its current Gold Coast network to 20 offices by launching two new offices in Robina and Broadbeach.
LJ Hooker Southern Queensland regional manager Colin Hawkins said the two suburbs were part of their Queensland and national strategy.
“Broadbeach will rejuvenate in coming years as redevelopment of sites around the first stage of the light rail corridor intensifies and the $580 million expansion of Pacific Fair takes shape,” he said.
“Robina is serviced by the expanded town centre, train station, Skilled Stadium, Bond University, commercial and medical precinct.
“It will likewise undergo medium-density development and price growth to accommodate the 56,000 residents the SEQ Regional Plan has earmarked for it over the next two decades."
Broadbeach’s proximity to Surfers Paradise and the real estate network’s partnership with Chinese international property portal Juwai.com will also appeal to investors from China looking to buy in the Gold Coast.
Robina will be the host venue of the 2018 Commonwealth Games, and LJ Hooker is predicting a spike in international investment in the area.
“Robina has a higher proportion of New Zealand, South African and UK-born residents than the wider Gold Coast, so there are strong international ties for the suburb ahead of 2018,’’ said Mr Hawkins.
“The mixture of detached to medium-density living, the Robina town centre, parks, schools, train station and access to the Pacific Motorway has appealed to Commonwealth ex-pats.
“LJ Hooker offices on the Gold Coast recognise the opportunity of the 2018 Commonwealth Games and are marketing it appropriately.
“But outside of the Commonwealth Games, there will be much activity in Robina in the years up to 2031, as the area’s population grows by 46 per cent.”
