An award-winning group has helped raise more than $20,000 for breast cancer research during Breast Cancer Awareness Month.

The Starr Partners network raised more than $20,000 for the National Breast Cancer Foundation (NBCF) by donating a percentage of all sales commissions from new properties listed during October.

Douglas Driscoll, CEO of Starr Partners said: “Breast cancer is such a prominent issue in our society. It is the most commonly diagnosed cancer among women in Australia, with one in nine women developing it in their lifetime.

“It was fantastic to see everyone in our team so motivated. Each person went above and beyond to increase our sales throughout October, and it was a great feeling to see our efforts reflected in the huge amount of funds raised for such a worthy cause.”

Kate Brett, community fundraising coordinator at National Breast Cancer Foundation said the foundation was thankful to all those involved in Starr Partners' fundraising initiative throughout October.

"What an amazing achievement. When NBCF was founded in 1994, 30 per cent of women diagnosed with breast cancer lost their battle. In less than 20 years, through research, this number has halved," she said.

"Funds raised by Starr Partners will go towards helping the women affected by breast cancer and their families and will help us achieve our goal of zero deaths by 2030.”
