Young real estate professionals will gather tonight to enjoy drinks, canapés and an opportunity to hear from one the industry’s best agents.

The Young Real Estate Professionals (YREP) organisation will host its third quarterly event for the year, with a presentation from guest speaker Jason Boon, director of Richardson&Wrench Elizabeth Bay and Potts Point.

Mr Boon, who ranked ninth in Real Estate Business’ Top 100 Agents this year, will speak about how he achieved success in his career.

"I'll be talking about how they can be more of themselves and less of a real estate agent, so how to be a person first and a real estate agent second, and I'll talk about how they can become a specialised agent in one area," he said.

CEO of Harcourts NSW and co-organiser of the event Rob Forde said he was excited to have Mr Boon at tonight’s event.

Mr Boon joins a growing list of speakers who have attended YREP’s events, including director and business owner at McGrath Estate Agents Matt Steinwede, and managing director of Jetts Group Adrian McFedries.

“Even though they’re doing incredibly well, the fact they’re willing to give up their time to speak to the next generation of people shows they really see the importance of giving back to the industry and they’re committed to the success of aspiring people, and see a lot of merit in that,” Mr Forde said.

Mr Boon said speaking at the event was an opportunity to give back to the industry.

"It's given me a lot in my life, so I'm just giving a bit back," he said.

Mr Forde said the value of events such as these was in allowing young agents to learn from the industry's best in a casual setting.

“They’re not just hearing in a classroom-type environment ... but they're hearing more personally what people have done in their lives to help them gain success, not only in real estate but personally too,"  he said.

The third YREP networking event will be held at The Clock Hotel, Lounge Bar at 6pm.

Numbers are strictly limited, but agents interested in attending tonight’s event can still RSVP via the YREP website.
