Friday funnies: Overexposed

By Staff Reporter

Every Friday, we will feature a story from an agent on the ground. This week’s story comes from Julie Giddings from PRDnationwide Tumbarumba.

This is the most memorable real estate story of my career. I had organised to show a property we had listed for sale. The vendor indicated he would not be home and to take our key. On arriving, I noticed his car in the driveway, so knocked and called out before entering the property.

With the home all in silence we entered and I began to show the prospective purchasers around. Unbeknown to me the vendor had attended a wake earlier in the day and had become quite inebriated. He had come home and passed out in his bedroom and did not hear us enter the property.

Following on from checking out the kitchen and living areas, we proceeded down the hall to the bedrooms. You can imagine my shock and horror to find the vendor passed out on his bed in all his glory. Yep he was naked from the waist down.

It was a quick exit from the room and the house for not only myself but the prospective purchasers as well. We did end up selling the house, just not to those people. I had great joy in telling the story to the vendor once he had 'sobered' up and I told him not to give me any grief as I had seen him naked.
