From a tiny office space in Wembley with second-hand furniture to one of the most awarded groups in its city, Realmark has grown into a powerhouse on Perth’s property scene.
Founded in 1989, Anita and John Percudani started from very humble beginnings, but with a dream to become something much bigger.
“Most of the furniture was second-hand or borrowed and we had a new software called Microsoft, which was the latest innovation,” said Mr Percudani.
“I think the main driving force for us going into business was probably to provide an opportunity not just for ourselves, but also an opportunity for others.
“We particularly wanted to do it differently because we hadn’t really had the best experience as employees in the real estate profession.”
Now with 15 offices across Perth and regional WA, the group has been awarded numerous titles – from the Real Estate Institute of Western Australia (REIWA) and the Real Estate Institute of Australia (REIA) to out-of-industry accolades.
In 2013, Realmark was the only Western Australian owned and operated company to make Business Review Weekly’s 50 Most Innovative Companies list.
It came in at number 28, ahead of big names like Nissan and Coles.
At the beginning of the month, hundreds gathered to celebrate at Fraser’s in Kings Park.
Heartfelt tributes flowed, with emotional video messages from licensees, employees and others touched by Realmark in some way.
REIWA president David Airey addressed the crowd, commending Realmark on its exceptional service standards and integrity.
Executive director Anita Percudani also addressed Realmark’s staff, suppliers and family, thanking everyone for their support and kindness.
