Last year 250 Victorian agents strapped on a pair of stilettos to help stop violence against women - 12 months on and consumers are still asking local agents about the event.
In support of White Ribbon Australia, Harcourts Victoria has announced the second annual ‘Walk a Mile in their Shoes’, however according to the principal of the group's Glen Waverley office Dexter Prack, the locals still haven’t gotten over last year’s event.
“Being a business owner I’m a big believer in giving back to your community, especially seeing as we run one of the bigger offices in Melbourne.
“I actually held an auction with me calling it in high heels. The event attracted about 150 people and ended up making the front page of the local paper,” Mr Prack said.
While the electric blue heels (seen in the picture below) helped draw the crowds, informative flyers were distributed to help get the message across.
“To this day I get asked when I’m going to call another one in high heels. And it looks like it’ll be happening pretty soon.
“This year I’m thinking I’m going to go Leopard print instead of blue,” Mr Prack said.
With Harcourts Victoria aiming to improve on last year’s $32,000, they have invited everyone to don a pair of high heels in the march from Southbank Spillway to City square on May 9.
