FRIDAY FUNNIES: Agent berates seniors for parking on lawn

An elderly US couple were on the receiving end of an anonymous outburst from a local agent who claims the couple’s parking habits were jeopardising the agent’s million-dollar sales.

The unknown Jersey Shore agent sent a letter to Bill and Barbara Doughten, berating the seniors for parking on their lawn.

“I’m trying to sell million-dollar homes in the neighbourhood,” the note read. “I drive my clients around and they see your car parked sideways on the front lawn! You have a driveway — use it!”

Mr Doughten labelled the note a sneak attack and defended his parking choices, as "it’s easier to unpack groceries" from his car.

“I park there because I’ve got a bad leg, I shake, and I’m an old man,” he told CBS News.

However, the couple have fought back through local and online media.

The couple's granddaughter, Teresa, took the letter to Facebook, where the community expressed their outrage at the anonymous letter.

“Dear cowardly Ocean City NJ real estate agent,” the Facebook post read. “Your sloppy, handwritten, unprofessional, anonymous and contemptuous note arrived at my eighty year-old grandparents' home today.

“I have to say, that I have seen salespeople do some pretty scumbag things in my life, but this may take the cake.

“I think it's safe to assume your sales aren't low due to where people park. I'm betting the fact that you're not doing such a great job selling homes is because you're a pretentious douchebag.”

After being shared almost 2,500 times and making international headlines, it’s no wonder the agent is yet to come forward.
