A Melbourne real estate agent who abandoned his business has authorities still searching for his whereabouts following a string of complaints from disgruntled clients.

Consumer Affairs Victoria has confirmed to Real Estate Business that Brunswick East real estate agency, Bennison Parker, “appears to have been abandoned” and it is currently investigating to confirm the status of the business.

It added that anyone who has information as to the current whereabouts of the principal of the business, Andrew Bennison, 31, who it’s believed vanished more than a month ago, should also contact them.

A source from a separate agency told Real Estate Business their business has received various enquiries from irate vendors in relation to their dealings with Mr Bennison and regarding his disappearance.

The Real Estate Institute of Victoria confirmed Mr Bennison is not one of its members and it has no further information, while Victoria Police informed Real Estate Business it was not following up a missing persons report.

The Age has reported the named partner in Bennison Parker is Jacqueline Parker, wife of businessman John Khoury, who stated his wife had no active role in the agency.

The newspaper reports Mr Khoury and Ms Parker invested with the real estate agent and gave him an opportunity, but she resigned as a director months ago, and that business wasn't going well for Mr Bennison.

Consumer Affairs Victoria said anybody affected should contact them immediately.
