One Victorian franchise network has smashed a number of records in the first quarter of 2014, with average agent commissions up almost 40 per cent.

Harcourts Victoria broke both the written sales and settled sales records during the first three months of the year, with both exceeding $180 million.

“In a market that has been somewhat inconsistent, we are thrilled to have beaten our own records across so many metrics,” said CEO Sadhana Smiles.

“Written and settled sales were up by 12 per cent and 36 per cent respectively on May last year, which is an exceptional double-digit result and exceeds all our forecasts.”

Harcourts Victoria’s offices and agents alike have been rewarded financially and the quarter’s average commission per sales consultant increased by 38 per cent – the highest ever recorded in Victoria.

“All of these outstanding results continue to support our aggressive expansion plans across the state. We have 10 offices opening in Victoria over the next 12 months and are in discussion with very keen parties – agents and business owners,” Ms Smiles said.

Harcourts Victoria has recently beefed up the training and development of its staff at all levels with the appointment of Vanessa Maher as state trainer and BDM.

“We are looking to continue on this exciting trajectory into 2014/2015 and beyond. I expect Harcourts’ presence and awareness to surpass that of competitors in key areas over the next 12 months,” Ms Smiles said.
