A leading real estate network is turning its jackets pink for the month of October in an Australian-led initiative aimed at raising awareness and funds for the Cancer Council’s ‘Pink Ribbon’ campaign.

The initiative will see thousands of Century 21 real estate agents across Australia wear limited edition pink jackets at their offices, at auctions, open homes and in their local areas during October, according to the network.

“Like other Australian businesses, Century 21 is exposed to the heartache and suffering these cancers inflict on Australians and their loved ones,” said chairman and owner of Century 21 Australasia Charles Tarbey.

“By changing our famous gold real estate jacket to pink, our network hopes to play a small part in driving awareness of the cause while also helping to raise funds for the Cancer Council,” he added.

Mr Tarbey said one in eight Australian women will be diagnosed with breast cancer in their lifetime.

“Hopefully the initiative will help raise additional awareness of the disease and more funds for research,” he said.

Century 21 agents will be taking donation boxes to auctions and open homes across Australia during October, displaying pink merchandise in their offices and hosting various fundraising events in their local communities.

Cancer Council Australia corporate partnerships manager Jane Hutchison said: “It’s fantastic to have the world’s largest real estate sales organisation supporting the Cancer Council in such a unique and visible way.
