Smart app brings 3D to listings

An application designed to feed users a host of property data such as 3D floorplans, video and a wealth of property-centric information is set to become the ‘next big thing’ for those looking to purchase real estate.

The application, named Snaploader, is the brainchild of former Hugo Boss Australia CEO Eric Fink and is the "next step" in linking print media agency listings with those featured online.

The software works by linking with an agent's or agency's CRM system and populating all information held about properties to the Snaploader app. When someone takes a photo of a listed property, a host of other useful data such as floorplans, property video and interior images is served up to the user.

Mr Fink said the application is similar to music-centric app Shazam, but has been tweaked for property purchases and use in the real estate industry. A user can walk past a house, according to Mr Fink, and simply take a photograph to see the inside features and further information.

“QR codes are very ugly and just give you one link and one transaction. With Snaploader the brand or property becomes the barcode and an image then delivers all the information you could want,” Mr Fink said.

“We are offering an augumented realty service that a few years ago people would have had to spend between $10,000 and $100,000 to have, and we can offer such a service to agents for around $150 per property, which the vendors will pay for.

“The main thing for estate agents is the wow factor and we are working on something at the moment that will become a future game changer.”

Chief executive of Starr Partners Doug Driscoll is trialling the application at the moment. Mr Driscoll said the software will eventually help agents list more properties.

“I think it gives our people a competitive edge in the lounge room,” he said.
