Protecting commission under new changes to state legislation in Queensland will be just one theme the Real Estate Institute of Queensland aims to discuss during its state-wide roadshow beginning 18 November.
The tour, headlined by REIQ CEO Antonia Mercorella, will feature a number of town hall-style meetings aimed at updating the local real estate industry on changes to the Property Occupations Act.
The Property Occupations Act 2014 features many new laws and regulations that the REIQ will attempt to educate its audience on through scenario-based exercises and other forms of ‘essential’ training.
REIQ CEO Antonia Mercorella will deliver the training sessions in person and said participants will be given the opportunity to test their knowledge in a real-world context.
“This is where the rubber really hits the road,” Ms Mercorella said.
“There will be a focus on new appointment requirements and forms, giving agents the skills they need to protect their commissions.
“This will include essential training for all practising real estate practitioners – whether you work in administrative support or are the principal of an agency, you really cannot afford to miss them.”
One major change to be covered in the roadshow is how splitting estate agents from the legislation that covers estate agents – the Property Agents and Motor Dealers Act – will affect future business.
The Property Occupations Act roadshow begins in Brisbane on Tuesday 18 November and works its way up and across the state, ending in Gladstone on Thursday 11 December.
