Australia’s booming housing market has helped yet another property group post a record-breaking month.

Harcourts Group Australia has reported that December 2014 was the best month in its history, with settlements 10 per cent higher than the previous record month of April 2014.

It comes after LJ Hooker enjoyed a record December and McGrath Estate Agents a record November.

Harcourts said results improved across all brands of the group, which has 354 offices in Australia and another 426 offices in seven other countries.

Rural property arm Landmark Harcourts posted a 78 per cent year-on-year increase in settlements. Commercial and industrial property division NAI Harcourts grew its settlements by 80 per cent.

Its finance brokerage Mortgage Express also reported an increase in business – particularly in NSW, where mortgage volumes jumped by 100 per cent.

Harcourts operations manager Marcus Williams partly attributed the group’s growth to favourable market conditions and the opening of new offices.

“We also had two very successful marketing campaigns over 2014, focusing on our global reach and client relationships, which contributed to our end-of-year numbers,” Mr Williams said.

“In the technology space, we have been investing heavily in giving our people the best tools in order to deliver an outstanding client experience, and I really think that shows both in our results and client satisfaction.”
