A marketing campaign that generated strong social media engagement has won a prestigious international award.

RE/MAX Australia claimed the Best Marketing Award at this month’s international RE/MAX conference for the "Make an ad to sell my pad" campaign it ran in 2014.

RE/MAX has about 100,000 agents in 95 countries around the world.

The 12-week Australian campaign was rewarded for its creative use of video after it encouraged consumers to create clips showing off their homes.

By the time the campaign ended more than 19,000 people had visited the competition microsite and the group’s Facebook followers had increased by 19 per cent.

The grand prize was a $25,000 holiday to anywhere in the world that had a RE/MAX office.

The international conference was held in Las Vegas earlier this month.

RE/MAX Australia also won the award for franchise sales, which was contested by 55 regions outside the US and Canada.

Two team leaders from Brisbane were named in the top 10 team leaders globally: Deborah Evans from RE/MAX Results and Dave Neilson from RE/MAX Bayside Properties.
