Realestate.com.au has launched a property recommendation tool that uses predictive analysis to proactively bring new homes to buyers’ attention.

The engine predicts which properties will interest buyers based on their own searching habits, as well as collective data from similar users.

Buyers have to turn on Now cards in the Google app to receive the personalised recommendations.

Once they do so, realestate.com.au Now cards will appear throughout the week to alert them to relevant properties. If they show an interest in any of those properties, they will be reminded about inspection times on the weekend.

Chief product officer Henry Ruiz said REA Group is always looking at new developments in personalisation and Big Data for opportunities to make the property process easier.

“The Google app is a great way to launch our recommendations service and deliver personalised property suggestions directly to [buyers’] Android devices,” Mr Ruiz said.

“We’re planning to expand our recommendation service to other devices and the main realestate.com.au site in the future.”

Domain Group has also integrated its app with Now cards.
