Buyers have been given an extra incentive this spring selling season, with an agency giving customers a chance to win a new car.

Every sale or rental listed under LJ Hooker Cleveland between 1 September and 30 November will give consumers the chance to win a Mitsubishi Mirage, valued at almost $20,000.

LJ Hooker Cleveland managing director Iain Carmichael believes it is the right time to give back to the community while also helping encourage the transactions in the real estate community.

“We felt that with so many people confined to their homes during lockdown, many might be now considering a move after determining they want to upsize or downsize or find a new environment to support a ‘work from home’ life,” Mr Carmichael said.

The managing director pointed out the high demand that remains in the area, with the promotion an added bonus for a lucky recipient.

“The market to date has been stronger than what some might have expected given COVID-19. Buyer numbers are strong, and with slightly lower stock than usual driving competition, the state of the market is healthy,” he said.

“We have a positive outlook for spring. Buyer numbers have remained high and we are starting to see listing numbers return to normal levels, indicating that market confidence is returning.”

To highlight the strength of the area, Mr Carmichael pointed to his agency, noting it has sold just under 60 properties and recovered its largest month in seven years for settlements.

However, despite the strong recent performance, Mr Carmichael is hoping for a stronger month at the start of the spring selling season.

“This month, we are aiming to list 70 properties for sale,” he said.

“For us at LJ Hooker Cleveland, the market for homes valued at more than $1,000,000 is the best we have seen for a number of years. Interestingly, we are fielding more than usual enquiries from southern states looking to make the move to Queensland, so we expect this to be an emerging trend in the coming months.”

LJ Hooker Cleveland currently has 26 sales agents, supported by a team of 10 direct support staff.

“To complement the consumer competition, agents are also in with a chance to win cash prizes,” Mr Carmichael said.

“Both the car competition and our internal incentives are to give our agents a competitive advantage and support them in having a strong finish to what’s been a challenging year.”

LJ Hooker Cleveland’s car giveaway complements the national network’s overarching spring campaign, which is offering home owners the chance to win one of seven $2,500 renovation vouchers by receiving a free property appraisal from any LJ Hooker agent.
