Generations of families growing their businesses through Professionals real estate make the network unique and deliver welcome stability through the highs and lows of the industry.

Professionals Real Estate is proud of its many member offices where family legacies are created, with the latest generational change occurring in the Moreton Bay Region, north of Brisbane.

The Chippendale family has been associated with Professionals Caboolture-Morayfield since 2007 when Leigh Chippendale took over as principal of the long-established Professionals office.

Now Leigh has passed the baton to her son, James Chippendale, who became the office’s principal in September 2023.

“I am so grateful to my mother who established a wonderful legacy, and I am honoured to take over the family business she created,’’ James said.

“Mum will stay involved as a sales consultant and auctioneer, while my dad Greg, who is well known in the Moreton Bay Region as a former deputy mayor, will have a role as a sales consultant although he’s pretty much retired.

“I’m thrilled that the family dynasty is now expanding to a third generation with my daughter Taya joining the team after recently receiving her real estate licence.

“When Taya was studying for her licence she realised how much she already knew of the industry after being around the business all her life. I know she will do well, as, like the rest of the family, Taya has a strong work ethic.’’

James became involved in the family business eight years ago after establishing a managerial career at Queensland Health.

“I always planned that I would transition into real estate and the family business,’’ he said.

“When I decided to purchase the business it was a no-brainer that I would continue with Professionals as our family’s name is linked to the brand and our values align.

“Being part of the Professionals’ ‘family’ means a lot to me. The group did the right thing by mum and from our experiences we know they are good people.

“Professionals has offered me every support to become a principal and I have been fortunate to be involved in the network’s Thought Leaders program receiving mentoring from our industry leaders.’’

Professionals Caboolture/Morayfield is just one of many second and third generation offices across the country, others include Paradise Point and Mermaid Beach on the Gold Coast, Armadale in Perth, Methven in Melbourne, Casula in Sydney and Everton Park in Brisbane.

Brian Brady is a second-generation principal of Professionals Keith Brady at Everton Park and proudly continues the business under his late father’s name.

Keith Brady, one of the founding fathers of Professionals, was instrumental in establishing the brand in 1976.

“I never changed the name as Dad’s legacy needs to be celebrated. That’s something special about the Professionals, we have the longest multi-generational ties in the industry,’’ Brian said.

Professionals Chief Executive Officer Katherine Gonzalez-Cork said the group was proud of its strong family ties and generational legacy.

“The many multi-generations actively involved in so many Professionals offices adds to our high level of retention of members that sets us apart from our competitors,’’ Ms Gonzalez-Cork said.

“The Professionals’ model of member offices suits family-run businesses. The flat-fee membership, not franchise, allows principals to return their profits to grow their families and their businesses.

“We are committed to succession planning and nurturing the next generation of leaders who will take up the mantle for Professionals. It makes us truly unique.’’

Professionals is one of Australia’s fastest growing real estate networks and is making strides to expand its 170-strong member network with a record nine new offices opening in the last half of 2023.

The network was established more than 48 years ago in Queensland, and has expanded across Australia, with an international presence in New Zealand, Fiji and Papua New Guinea.
