Sidekick has unveiled a new eight-week program to help property managers lead effectively, manage stress, and create high-performing teams.
Sidekick’s new People Leader Accelerator program will begin on the 16th of September and will run every Tuesday for eight weeks, providing property managers with the skills needed to become purpose-driven leaders.
Sidekick’s property management consultant, Karla Major, said that property managers are often promoted to leadership positions without any formal training, and can suffer burnout due to a lack of preparation and support.
To overcome this issue, Major created the People Leader Accelerator program to empower property managers who have risen from operational roles, and are on the path to becoming people leaders.
Major said the program was designed to challenge the idea of innate leadership and prove that “accidental managers” can still become purposeful leaders when given proper support.
“Leadership has long been seen as something you either have or you don’t, but we know that with the right guidance anyone can become the mentor their team deserves,” Major said.
To accomplish this change, the People Leader Accelerator program will provide property managers with the skills, systems and resources needed to build loyal teams, reduce burnout, and maintain a thriving property management team.
Over the structured eight-week program, participants will learn the techniques that form the backbone of team leadership, including strategies around recruitment, onboarding, performance management, and spanning right through to culture-building and retention.
Participants will also have access to coaching support, practical toolkits and live masterclasses from industry leaders, which will equip property managers for success in all areas of leadership.
Ahead of the program’s launch later this September, the enrollment window will span up until 15 September 2025.
Major said that spots for the People Leader Accelerator program will specifically be limited to ensure an intimate learning environment that best equips property managers for success.
“Employees thrive when they feel supported and seen,” Major said.
“We created the People Leader Accelerator as a long-overdue roadmap to help leaders unlock that potential, build high-retention teams, and cultivate cultures where people and businesses flourish,” she concluded.
