A new Barry Plant appointment in Victoria’s north-west will oversee the agency’s financial and operations, improving long-term profitability and streamlining processes.

Barry Plant has announced the appointment of Danica Leng as operations and finance manager to its Mildura office, bringing a chartered accounting background and 18 years of professional experience.

In the position, Leng will oversee the financial performance and operational efficiency of the office to ensure strong governance, transparency, and streamlined processes.

The network said Leng had a high level of financial expertise and strategic insight, delivering accurate financial management, strengthening internal systems, and supporting sustainable growth.

“Danica is passionate about building structure and clarity behind the scenes, enabling the sales and property management teams to focus on delivering exceptional results and trusted service,” it said.

Leng said she will use her knowledge of financial management, compliance & systems processes to interpret data and the business's operational needs.

Having previously worked with a diverse client base, she said she had gained a thorough understanding of business structures, cash flow management, taxation, and regulatory compliance.

“These skills translate directly into overseeing trust accounting, financial reporting, and system and process optimisation,” she told Real Estate Business.

She also said building and maintaining client relationships had been pivotal to her career, and there were similarities between this experience and supporting a high-performing real estate team.

Further, Leng said she was drawn to the Mildura office as she considered it a strong local business with a track record of growth, and wanted to add value with a financial and operational focus.

“The culture and team environment were also very welcoming, which made the decision even easier.”

Ultimately, Leng said she looked forward to contributing to the businesses’ performance and growth with a hands-on approach.

“I firmly believe success comes from bringing people with you, and that a collaborative environment is key to achieving long-term results,” she concluded.
