A property leader explores shifting client expectations as emerging technology transforms the property sector.

Ahead of her appearance at the inaugural REB Innovation Summit, Rebecca Moroney, founder and CEO of WayScape, said agentic AI is set to fundamentally reshape the role of real estate professionals in Australia.

“Agentic AI refers to intelligent systems that act with autonomy, context awareness, and decision-making ability to assist humans in complex tasks,” Moroney explained.

Agentic AI has been revolutionary for the real estate sector, cutting down admin time by up to 80 per cent through automating communication and streamlining workflows, according to the founder and CEO.

This groundbreaking technology empowers agents to scale faster, operate more efficiently, and deliver hyper-personalised service at every stage of the client journey, said Moroney.

With the growing adoption of agentic AI in workflows, Moroney noted that “client interactions are now timely, relevant, and deeply personalised”.

AI enables agents to work faster, anticipate client needs, and manage relationships at scale, without compromising authenticity.

“The result is a seamless, consistent experience for clients, increasing trust, satisfaction, and conversion,” Moroney added.

These capabilities make agentic AI a powerful force in real estate – acting as an always-on, constantly evolving agent.

In fact, a PagerDuty survey found that approximately 44 per cent of respondents believe AI agents are more impactful than gen AI, with 60 per cent of Australian respondents stating their organisation has already deployed the technology.

Agentic AI is expected to significantly transform the role of real estate professionals, but it’s unlikely to replace them entirely.

We will likely see real estate professionals increasingly using AI-powered tools to handle repetitive tasks, generate instant proposals, manage leads, and access real-time property insights, according to Moroney.

She added that an AI agent “works behind the scenes as a scheduler, strategist, and client engagement engine”.

“This allows agents to stay focused on what matters most – building relationships, closing deals, and growing their business with precision,” she concluded.
