How the top groups keep pace with the tech race

Two of Australia’s leading networks unpack what tech advantages they offer to their network, and how each is winning their agents more listings and helping them make more sales.

Raine & Horne executive chairman Angus Raine said that the Raine & Horne Group offers two distinctive tech advantages to its network: Digikit and Amplify.

“Digikit is a first-to-market web-based interactive appraisal platform for both sales and property management, which is exclusive to our network. I’m proud to say Digikit was born from a concept developed by some of our top principals.”

Mr Raine said that there is now a “massive chunk” of the network using Digikit.

“This product sets us apart from our competitors, and it is already receiving a significant thumbs up from consumers.

“Landlords and vendors love Digikit because they can get all the relevant information about their property pronto.”

Mr Raine said that Digikit also streamlines the appraisal process and delivers brand-consistent documents.

“Digikit can provide a customised and paperless appraisals platform that can be adapted to the needs of the thousands of individual real estate markets across Australia, and provide relevant and personalised content for each vendor, investor or landlord.

“The platform is winning our offices more listings and helping us attract the attention of existing agents, who are either drowning in appraisal paperwork or are losing listings due to the modest quality of their sales documents.”

Meanwhile, Laing+Simmons managing director Leanne Pilkington said that Laing+Simmons was always investigating and investing in new technologies and systems.

“With the potential to help our people focus on what they do best, which is working with people,” the MD said.

“Part of our brand proposition in the crowded marketplace is that of being an innovator and we’ve won numerous awards in this space.”

Ms Pilkington said that Laing+Simmons has pioneered many tech initiatives in real estate, including VR and the comprehensive agent resource library available via the Laing+Simmons App.

“Digital frameworks is the next evolution of the Laing+Simmons App. It’s an online learning management system which provides every member of the Laing+Simmons family access to an easy-to-follow road map of learning modules instantaneously.

“Whether our people are on their mobile, tablet or desktop, they have click-through access to audio, videos and reading material — around 900 resources in total — 24/7.”

Ms Pilkington also said that technology never sleeps.

“We’re constantly reviewing our procedures and systems to remain at the cutting edge,” the MD said.

“We have commenced a serious investigation into the implications AI will have on real estate and how we can harness the power of data to help our people deliver better customer service.”
