Auction volumes are expected to take a dip this week, in light of the ANZAC day long weekend.

According to CoreLogic RP Data’s Auction Market Preview, 1,372 auctions have been scheduled across the country, down from almost 1,700 last week.

The amount of auction activity in Sydney and Melbourne remains much the same, with 535 and 546 auctions scheduled, respectively.

In Brisbane, 114 auctions are scheduled, followed by Adelaide with 92 auctions scheduled, Canberra with 52 auctions scheduled and Perth with 27 auctions scheduled.

On a week-on-week basis, auction activity will be lower in all major cities with the exception of Sydney and Canberra, where the number of auctions scheduled to take place this week is 12 per cent and 6 per cent higher, respectively, than the week prior.

Looking at individual suburbs, the three busiest for auctions this week are Mount Waverly (14), Craigieburn (12) and Reservoir (11), all located in Melbourne.
